Psychotherapy & Counselling

Mental health support for anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, grief, stress, life transitions and relationship difficulties with an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.

Support for when life feels overwhelming

At Connect Healthcare, we understand that health is not just physical. Stress, anxiety, low mood, grief, pain, major life changes and emotional overwhelm can all affect how people move, recover, connect and function day to day.

Our Psychotherapy &  Counselling service provides a calm, supportive space to help you make sense of what you are experiencing, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build practical ways forward.

Sessions are available with Tanya Guglielmo, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker from Waves of Emotion, who consults from our Norwood clinic and via Telehealth.

A connected approach to care

At Connect Healthcare, we often support people whose mental health, physical health and life circumstances are closely linked.

For some clients, this may involve persistent pain, injury recovery, chronic health conditions, work stress, reduced confidence, or difficulty returning to normal routines. Psychotherapy and counselling can form part of a broader care plan alongside chiropractic, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, dietetics or other allied health support.

You do not need to be seeing another practitioner at Connect to book with Tanya, but where helpful, and only with your consent, we can communicate as a team to support more coordinated care.

Meet Tanya

Tanya Guglielmo

Accredited Mental Health Social Worker – Psychotherapy & Counselling

Tanya is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with extensive clinical experience supporting adults through anxiety, depression, life transitions and emotional overwhelm. Her therapy style is grounded, compassionate and conversational, helping people feel heard without feeling rushed or judged.

Tanya works with people as whole people – not just symptoms or diagnoses. Her sessions may involve exploring emotional patterns, making sense of past experiences, developing practical strategies, or supporting people through difficult seasons of change.

Tanya’s approach is warm, relational and evidence-informed. Her work draws on therapies including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with a trauma-aware and attachment-informed lens.

FAQs

How do I get started?

Therapy is personal, so the first step is usually a brief connection call to see whether Tanya’s approach feels like the right fit. You can book a free 15 minute on Tanya’s website or by giving her a call. If you’d like to use Medicare rebates, speak with your GP about a Mental Health Treatment Plan first. From there, you can book your first session and begin.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly without a referral.

However, if you would like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need to speak with your GP about a Mental Health Treatment Plan before your appointment.

Can I claim through Medicare?

Yes, if you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. This may allow you to access up Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions with an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.

Can I claim on private health insurance?

Some private health funds may provide rebates for Mental Health Social Work, depending on your extras cover and insurer requirements. It is best to check directly with your health fund before booking.

Can I do sessions online?

Yes. Tanya offers both in-person sessions at Norwood and Telehealth appointments.

What approaches does Tanya use?

Tanya draws on a range of evidence based therapies including Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Her practice is also trauma aware and attachment informed. She tailors her approach to suit you rather than applying a one size fits all method.

What are Tanya’s qualifications?

Tanya is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with extensive clinical experience across community, government and private settings. She has completed over 200 hours of clinical mentorship and ongoing professional development to ensure her practice remains current and effective.

How long are sessions and how much do they cost?

Sessions are 50 to 60 minutes. Fees and rebate information are available on request. Medicare rebates apply if you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you’re working through. Some people benefit from a few sessions during a difficult period. Others prefer longer term support to work through deeper patterns. Tanya will check in regularly and adjust as needed.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t work?

That’s more common than you might think. Sometimes it’s about finding the right fit or the right approach. Tanya’s focus is on creating a space where you feel genuinely heard and understood, not rushed or judged. She’ll work at your pace and in a way that makes sense for you.

Can I access sessions through Return to Work SA?

Yes. Tanya can see clients who are approved under Return to Work arrangements. Sessions are funded through your work injury insurer once the referral and approval are in place. If you are unsure whether you are eligible, speak with your employer or insurer to confirm.
